Bozeman Mudbog

Since we'd just returned from RMIHR, and Devil was still missing 3rd gear, and while in Moab I managed to kil the Dana 20 in Tigger, my buddy Blair graciously offered to let Michelle and I run his Bronco, "Fred" in the Mudbog.

This was Michelle's first mudbog.. and she was the only one of the three of us to make a full pass! :)

Memorial Day Rally

Cascade County 4-Wheelers had a rally over Memorial Day.

John and Pansy Comer made the long drive up in "Yellow" pulling Gryphin. Dave Nuenke didn't make it over from SoDak, and I put a limping Little Devil on the trailer to give it a go - even without 3rd gear and a bent draglink.

Blair Howze joined us in our little group, with his F150.

We convoyed up on Saturday and ran drags. Michelle and I both took the Comers up on the offer to drive Gryphin, and we saved what was left of Devil's 727 for the Obstacle on Sunday. Devil isn't the best drag car as it is, and it's really not a good drag car with a slipping tranny that's already smoked 3rd gear.

Bozeman WinterFair and Ice Racing

With a bent draglink from Winter Baja, we loaded up Little Devil and headed to Bozeman for the Mountineer's Winter Fest Ice Racing.

Things were going fairly well until I smoked the 727 and lost 3rd gear.. my performance suffered considerably at that point, though I did manage to trade paint with Leonard Nelson at one point and also a Ford pickup :)

Travelette engine/tranny upgrade

The problem with my built 392 turned out to be an incorrectly assembled lifter.

Michelle found the problem.

As Memorial Day approached, I decided I might try to get the truck put back together with the new engine, so I could use it for the summer, and use it to move the "junk" from the shop at my mom's place to the shop at my place, once the shop was done.

As such, the engine swap needed to happen before moving the shop.I re-assembled the engine easily enough, and things checked out OK.

April Trail ride - Tigger Pics

Just a little sequence of pictures from the April trip to Park Lake.. everyone went "high" around this tree. I declared I was taking the low route, and would probably hit the tree, bounce off, and continue on.. :D

Michelle, in Oscar, managed to pilot right on by (taking the higher line) with no troubles... in a stock, open diff'ed 800, with 31" tires.. not a locked Scout with 36" TSLs.. soon she'll be driving circles around me with "inferior" eqiupment.. it's bad enough she always manages to beat me while racing..
