Homo-wner..

Change is coming.. some of my "wrenching" projects are being postponed due to some bigger events taking place.

Michelle and I had been searching for houses now and then for a while, and pursued the chore with a little more gusto the last few weeks, which wound up with us making an offer on a house last week.. which they countered, we countered, and both parties agreed to.

So, assuming there are no snags, on 4/25 we'll be homeowners.. and busy moving. :D

Michelle took some Pictures of the (then potential) new house on 3/21, posted in the Gallery.

It'll be about a 10 mile drive to work. 1.5 miles of 2-lane to I-15, then 7 or so miles down the Interstate, and then another mile to work.

It's further than I've lived from town, but a lot closer than a lot of the places we were looking at.

Redeeming features?

Minimal Covenants. The Covenents deal mostly with the private road 3 lots share, a light ordinance (no lights shining directly on anyone else's house or the road), and a limit of 5 barnyard animals.

That's about it. Nothing about a home-based business, nothing about restoring cars, parking cars.. nothing.

Combine that with the 2.3 acres of land, and my desire of a place with enough room to park my trucks n' trailer and such was satisfied.

Throw in the nice house we both liked, and the jetted bathtub that Michelle sure didn't DISlike.. and things were looking pretty good.

Add in a 28x36 shop *with* a tall door.. and what's not to like?

Well, the shop needs finished.. it doesn't even have electricity, but it's a start.

The house is pretty good sized, with around 2300 sq. feet. 3bed/2bath.. 3 living/rec/family rooms. More than the two of us currently need, but with interest rates as low as they are, we were able to get enough house to keep the future in mind.

I'll have some interior work to do - the basement bathroom isn't finished. It needs a shower installed, then everything sheetrocked and such.

All in all, a nice house, a good sized garage, and room to park my rigs.

And room to build a bigger shop if the need arises. I guess there's one more covenant. I can only build another 8000 square feet of "stuff" on the property.
