Shop Update

I have been derelict on updating the site.. partly because I keep hoping to recover my pictures from the old HDD.. but I'm about to abandon hope. ;)

The shop is nearly done!!In January, some club members came by to help sheetrock..

Just before the 'rock party, we hung and got operational the 200,000 BTU Reznor heater I purchased from Howard Tucker in Leadville, CO (thanks, Howard!)

Sure puts out heat.

By April/May Michelle and I finished the sheetrock, primed, and painted the shop.

I also installed the first light - a used ceiling fan left over from some remodeling my mom did.

You can see the start of my shelving operations, too.

By July I had hung 12 lights in the ceiling and more shelves.

Got one air reel hung, and the entire air system stubbed-out and holding air (mostly).

The single 25' reel is too short.. it works for one side of a rig, but not very well for an entire rig. I'm waiting for Homier to come back and buy a 50' reel to put closer to the center of the shop, between bay #1 and #2.

Progess on the shelving:

Got the lifting points in the ceiling, and Michelle's punching bag hung. Currently the bag is down, and her Scout 800 hardtop is hanging from the rafters.

That's a 9/16" U-bolt through the ceiling, wrapped around a 2x6 nailer and the original 2x4 truss. 2x6s run from wall to wall, along with a couple of uprights tying the truss bottoms into the tops in a few more locations.

Unrelated to the shop, I finally got a torch set, too.. still need gas..

As of August 8th, I hauled the first truck load of stuff out from my shop at mom's.. the powder coating electric oven, the 5hp air compressor, the 230amp stick welder, and the IH Fridge have made it home.

1 load down many more to go.

I've also put up most of the pegboard and a few more shelves. I need to put one more section of shelving up under the heater, and one section of pegboard beneath that, and I think that phase will largely be done, too.
