33gal tank swap

After running out of gas on the way home from our last trail ride.. I finally decided it was time to get the 33gal tank I acquired from Mark Korsten at RMIHR '02 installed.

Getting the 19 out was easy.. getting the 33 in wasn't so easy.

The filler spout on the tank hits the frame rail a bit, making it difficult to shoe-horn the tank into place.

The fittings were all in enough of a different spot to make new hoses and such required.

And it just didn't fit in too well.. I raised the back of the Scout a good ways with my floor jack under the tank before it finally popped into place. :D

But it's done now.

While I was at it, I found a few fried wires in the engine bay heading towards the alt. At this point, I want to blame it on the wires chafing on the valve cover and wearing through. I've spliced a new section back in, and I'm hoping it cooperates.

I'll put some wire loom on it once I'm sure I'm done.
